The foundation that is behind every one of our dogs,started with the purchase of what turned out to be Ch. Windsong's KremePuff O'Stardan CD. "Dotti" was purchased after I had been exhibiting for 8 years. Again, I obtained her from Jim and Mary Kistner of Windsong Samoyeds. Her sire was AM&CAN CH.Karalot's Hotshot of Windsong who was also bred by Mary Kistner. Her dam was Windsong's Koko Puff who died at age 4 before she could be finished.

Dotti was large for a bitch, we always stated she was 23.5 inches in height, but she probably was a bit taller. Dotti had a wonderful front and beautiful side gait. She was a Group Placer at a time when the Working and Herding Groups were combined. She was the Queen of the kennel and used her size to get what she wanted. From the favorite chair to the best place to sun herself... Every dog on the place respected Dotti. She was a wonderful obedience dog and was trained through Open. She was always a fun dog to show and was a joy. She was anelegant dog and had beautiful bone,deep body and loads of neck.

Dotti taught me how to relax and enjoy myself while I was showing. She was my first special and Group Placer. She also taught me patience and the trials and tribulations of showing a bitch, I saw an awful lot of BOS before we won our first Breed, and then she won her first group placement that same day. She was specialled only now and then and was only shown when not being bred.

Dotti's claim to fame was as a Top Producer. Her first litter consisted of 7 puppies (out of AM CAN BMD CH Karalot's JakFrost of Westwind-BIS) 6 out of 7 finished their championships. She produced 11 champions, and was SQ and Kennel Reviews Top Producing Brood Bitch in 1984.

Continuing our Winning Ways...
"Amy" was obtained from Linda & Clifton Lashley of Anadyr Samoyeds. This breeding was a 6 times cross to Hotshot who was now owned by Karen McFarland. She was out of our stud, Ch Stardan's Jack Daniels and in lieu of a fee I asked for an option on a pup.I always wanted a cute little bitch and I hoped this breeding would be it. Amy is what I consider the prettiest and typiest female that we have owned.

Amy's claim to fame is her show career. She finished quickly, with three 5 point majors. The first was at the GMSF Specialty going BOW over her 10 year old uncle, Stardan's Billy Jak.(who later finished at the age of 11) She then went on to get her second major a month later during the SAMS specialty weekend going BOW and BOS. She finished with a 3rd 5 point major at our home show put on by Packerland Kennel Club, going BOW. While in the classes, Amy never showed very well, but she could really tear up a ring. She had wonderful side movement and a very nice rear. She carried a beautiful expression and a very tight almond eye. She looked like a puppy for years.

We decided not to show her with the hope of breeding her, but she was not a very ectastic mom and we had difficulty with getting her bred.

When she turned 8, we took her to the SAMI Specialty on a lark. She obtained BOS honors. She continued to win BOS at that specialty for 3 additional years as a veteran. She also went BOS at the Chicagoland Specialty, at the GMSF Specialty and received an Award of Merit as a 13 year old over 103 Samoyeds.

When Amy was 9 we decided to take her up to Canada and showed her at the their shows. She obtained her Canadian Championship in 3 shows going BOW, BOS at the Samoyed Association of Canada Booster, and then going BOB and Group II on Saturday and Sunday (both days) to finish.

Amy always had a mind of her own. She stepped in as
the Queen Bee after Dotti left. She was a very sound
dog that aged very well. Her movement carried on well into her geriatric days, and only recently has started showing her age at 14 years of age. Amy continues to be the favorite of our youngest, Justin. We worked her in Agility and was a Certified Therapy Dog.

As one of the last surviving Jack Daniels kids she
holds a special place in my heart.

It is with a very sad heart that I say good bye to Amy, who died on Mothers Day, May 11, 2003. She was my campion and friend and will forever be a part of me. Rest in Peace, Amy....

Rumpelstilskin Contract

"Gabby" is our newest addition at Stardan Kennels. She was obtained from Pam Small of Marathon,WI. In a Rumpelstilkin arrangement, Pam had me handle her Amy grand daughter, Kayla in exchange for her first born daughter in which to carry on the Stardan tradition. Gabby was shown exclusively by 10 year old Justin Jahnke. She is a Best of Breed winner from the classes and needed a major to fnish her championship when she died suddenly from an aggressive form of cancer.

She was bred to Ch. Snowberry's Rough N Ready (owned by Betty Gerlach) for her first litter. She has pointed pups out of this breeding. She was next bred to CH Alpine Glo's Gambler's Image (owned by Carol Montgomery) She has major pointed kids in this litter as well. 

Gabby is a very nice moving dog with a gorgeous front and rear. She has a nice long neck and has a deep body. She carries beautiful bone. She was very easy to live with and always willing to please. No attitude here, she only wants your undivided attention and is not interested in the status quo. 

Gabby died on June 16, 2007 from lymphosarcoma 2 weeks after being diagnosed at Cornell. She is greatly missed by us all and left way too early.
